I look forward to meeting and teaching each and everyone of your students!
Weeks of September 4th-18th
We begin our social studies unit covering Early Civilizations and Mesopotamia. We will discuss the early humans, how these civilizations began to form, and what each civilization needs in order to thrive. One civilization we will be focusing on in particular will be Ancient Mesopotamia. We will discover the importance of the Tigris and Euphrates River to this civilization, the different civilizations that formed there, Hamurabi's Code of Law and so much more. For their unit test, students will be working in groups to study Hammurabi's code of law. Each group is responsible for picking two laws from Hammurabi's Code of Law and turning them in to modern day court cases. Students will then present the court cases in class in front of their peers.
